Tennis

Tennis is a interesting and competative sport, when I had my first session of tennis I was unexcited because I didn't like wacthing Tennis because I thought it was boring just hitting the ball from one side of the court to the other side. But I haven`t actually played it so when i started playing it I enjoyed it alot.

Today was my seconed session of playing tennis I was looking forward to it this time, we had a little tournament to see what group of students were the best tennis players in our class. Our group started of on the topside of the court and I thought we would win the tournament go through undefeated and stay champions,but it was a different story. On my turn I served the ball to my oppenent he hit it back and I was linning up the ball for a good hit I slamed it but unfortunally into the net! I was dissapointed of my hit. We lost that macth and so we got droped into the lower ranked court. I was expecting more from our group.

I was determaind for revenge and was ready to unleash the Rafal Nadal like player inside me. I was first up i serevd the ball and it came straight back at me i slamed it straight back but yet again it came back, I chased the ball and hit it into the top right corner that won the game for us!!! I was happy with myself. BUT! Our trainer Marcelle didn`t belive that we won and gave the opossing team the win and a trip to the 1st ranked court.

Tennis is now one of my favourite sports to play. Even though the rain delayed our tournament a bit and even though we didn`t come anywhere in the tournament I still had fun and enjoyed our session with Marcelle (Instructor). Even though that i think that Tennis is a boring sport to watch it is a fun sport to be apart of and play. I can`t wait until our next session of Tennis.

This term our topic was 'Outta this world' . This is my Mnemonic about our solar system.

Conversation of France.

We have had allot of fun learning about France and there culture .

“ Good Morning Griffis, said Broffin, This is my first time in France and I would like for you to ask me a few questions on France “
“Do you know what the capital of France is?”
“Indeed I do, it is Paris,” replied Broffin.
“Do you know what continent France is on?” asked Griffis.
“Yes I do, it is in Europe," replied Broffin.
“You are on a roll,” said Griffis .
“What are the colours on the French rugby jersey?” asked Griffis.
“ Yes I do Black and Blue,“ said Broffin.
“ OK, Next question. Who is the previous France captain?” asked Griffis.
“ Is it Dimitri Yachvili !” Replied Broffin.
Griffis stood in silence and nodded his head. “You are one confident buck.” said Griffiis
“ Thank you !” cheered Broffin.
“ Do you know what colour the French flag is? “ asked Griffis
“ I do!” shouted Broffin, it has stripes with colours Red,White and Blue!”"yes you are right, What are two major celebrations in France
“ ok, you got that right, but do you know who the first settlements to ever step on France?” said Griffis.
“ oh Good question , was it the Pakeha’s" said Boffin
“ olalala ! no it wasn’t the Pakeha’s it was the Gauls,” spoke Griffins.

Silly Sports day

There I was hobling along with my mate Feki beside me, we had to win this race to make it into the finals. Last Tuesday team five had a silly sports day, the sun was shining brightly with a slight breeze and the oval was nice and soft. Me and my mate Feki were hobling in a three leged race, our inside leg was tied up so we had to use three legs to walk with. I managed to make it into the finals with my other freind but we didnt win it.

The hardest activity for me was Ms T's because it was hard to control the slingshot. The objective was to use the slingshot to fire the ball into the hoops to score points. Every time i went up for my turn i tried to shoot the ball to the left so the wind could push it into the hoops for points, I never got the ball in the hoop it always came up short of the hoop. We scored no points in this activity until Ms V said if we hit her we get a hundred points no one in our class could hit her so Ms T tryed and she hit Ms V on the stomach. But we didnt score any in that activty.

My favourite activty of the day was Ms Langitupu's because it was fun and we won! The objective was to get all players on the other team out by touching them with the ball. It may sound easy for the team with the ball but you are not aloud to move around with the ball in hand. My team was the colour blue we had all the sporty people in my team. On our first game we had fun only two people got out and the rest survived. Our next macth was the finals for our class we were all pumped up to win. We all focused on one person to get out , we got all of the yellow team out and we were the champions of our class at this event.

The silly sports day was an awsome day I had lots of fun and it was very competive, i hope that we have another silly sports day.

Keep your eye on the ball

We are using the nations of the 2011 Rugby World Cup as our inquiry path.
For this unit we are in one of four teams: Brumbies, Force, Rebels, Stormers. My team is BrumbiesThere will be a number of tasks for us to navigate to achieve our goal of an excellent result in this unit. There are a mixture of individual and team tasks to be completed. The main task that will show our learning in this unit will be a Hyperstudio presentation about one of the countries in the World Cup competition.

I am exited for the world cup because it is gonna make history for New Zealand rugby.

Prototype

This term we have been working on designs for our street. I have designed a one setter chair, it is similar to a lazy boy chair, when you lean back the bottom of the chair comes up to put your feet on to relax.

Before I got to this state I had to search the Internet to look at past furniture designs. I had to draw out my furniture design ideas on to a sheet of paper. It wasn't easy thinking of ideas it took me a while to come up with the right one.

When I started my furniture prototype I had to draw my design out onto a cardboard, then I had to cut it out to join it all the pieces together . When i finish my prototype I will take a photo of me sitting on it.

Tim Berners-Lee Invented the WWW (World Wide Web), ever since he invented the WWW the world has changed enormously in communicating because it has gone more faster. In the 21st century we can e-mail, video chat and blog.

Tim Berners-Lee was born on 1955 on June 8th in London,England. He graduated at queens collage at oxford university. Tim Berners-Lee is still alive living a happy life developing the internet.

Tim Berners-Lee’s invention made communicating easier and faster. The internet has made communicating faster and better because it is instant. You can also share your work on the internet for the whole wide world to see. The WWW helps us find and share information it is a very handy tool. Tim Berners Lee Invention has changed the way people think.

Into the action

I ran past one defender and dashed down the sideline.....

I stood up in a disgrace as I walked back onto the field of play with my head bowed. I said to myself, "What happened?"

I took a break and tried to get my head together all I remembered was that I was running down the sideline...... But then I remembered that I got hit out right next to the try line. My rugby game was over for the day.

Exggeration

Our task was to exaggerate in our writing.
Last week I went to my Grand Dad Obama’s house. It was boring because he had a meeting with the Taliban's to bring peace.

I Came back to N.Z and we went to go watch my uncle David Tua when the Mobs came and invaded my uncles house, he gave them a left hook with a right upper cut.

Cars

The first car was invented by Karl Benz, They were very different from todays cars.

Cars today come in all sorts of different sizes. Some are the sizes of Blue Whale even some come as the shape of a bicycle. Today’s cars have improved Tremendously like they have more like ford, Holden and Mercedes. Cars come as the shape of a Bicycle and come with two wheels.

in the future I think that cars will be able to fly and to go under water.I hope in that in the future the cars can be Bigger, Better, Stronger, Faster.

My letter home

Dear Mum ,

How are you, I hope you are well, I really enjoy my classroom because of my Friends and my teacher (Mr Harris). I really like using the net books because its fun.

The most interesting thing is our net books we use them instead of our day pads. I write better on my net book.

Welcome to Point England School

This is a short clip of the different types of the P.E way . Lining up in a single file, using your W.I.T.S,Chuck it in the bin, being respectful all these things and more help us to become not only better role models but also people.We filmed these clips around the school campus. It has clips of me and my friends playing on the court and people presenting in our assembly. Also it has children receiving awards from our head master in our assembly. These are only part of the Pt England way that makes up our wonderful school. I Hope you enjoy my movie.

My Thoughts on Camp TC

Camp TC is nearly here I have had started packing my stuff for camp Take charge. I am in the Participatorz .I can’t wait till next week on Monday because that is when camp starts then. I think this camp is going to be interesting because we have to cook our own food. Also this camp is going to be exciting because we are doing new stuff.Our team leaders are Charm and Helen they motivate us really well when we do team activities. I can’t wait for camp its going to be a blast.

We just finished three filled days of jammed packed days of camp. I liked rock up the most because it improved my team work skills. Also I took charge of my tent by cleaning it. Camp was the best experienced I have had.

Our first day at Tamaki college

Yesterday, Team 5 walked down to Tamaki College to have our first day of Technology. When we walked down I was thinking what graphics would be like this year. Last year the year eights had a taste of what tech at Tamaki was like now we have more people. Last year their were 3 groups now this year their are 4 . Their was Cooking, Hard Materials and Graphics and now their is Electronics,so I was curious of what that would be like.

When we arrived I was looking for my line to go to my class. When we got in there our Teacher said, "To get high marks you don't have to be an artist you just have to have lots of ideas”.So I thought to myself I could get high marks.

I thought our first day at Tamaki was a blast. I am looking forward to what this year would bring.
